Band History

The band continued to be successful. "Rockin' The Blues Away" charted in the E.M.S. European Country Charts. "Lonestar Boogie" went to No. 5 in October 2000 and the "Red Eye to Memphis" reached No. 3 in January 2001. It's the highest position that any Rock 'n' Roll band had achieved.

In 2003 we released another CD on Jailbird Records "Who Taught You To Rock" and all the songs were once again written by myself and great friend Richie Ball. Again we received great reviews for this album.

We finished the band for a couple of years but Jack Wright our long standing drummer thought it was a good idea to have another go and we did just that and recorded the last Johnny and the Jailbirds song "I Got Love".

On March 2nd 2010 we released a 32 track C.D "The very best of Johnny and the Jailbirds" (from the begining) the very first recordings, unreleased songs, and great new versions of "Jailbird" classics, including re-worked songs such as "Roll On" (clickety clack) re-engineered with added instruments by Mario Bradley are included on this highly aclaimed album. The cd is accompanied with a six page booklet of the history throughout the Johnny and the Jailbirds years. More details can be found on Jailbirds link, and the buy cd link at the top of this page.
